A Bit About Us

The Money Hub is a social innovation company established in 2016. Our inception is based on increasing financial literacy in disadvantaged neighborhoods of New York City and nationwide. It all started on the basketball courts of Queens, where our Founder sought to connect with his childhood friends through the game of basketball. Through interactions he noticed that many were struggling financially. It was not like they did not work, they all had full time jobs. But the thought of savings, investing, home ownerships all seemed like a distant dream. This made him wonder, what did we learn in school that taught us about money management? And the answer is nothing.

So came the inception of The Money Hub. We created an organization that empowered people to take charge of their money. We went out there and began the financial literacy revolution.

OUR PURPOSE

At The Money Hub we believe financial ailments can be mitigated by providing timely, objective financial information. Connecting education with the latest technology in budgeting and banking allows our audiences to make real world application of what they learn. Moreover, instilling the core values of personal finance can have profound effects that public education has failed to provide.

WHAT WE DO

We started off by conducting workshops on personal finance through schools, non-profit organizations, community-based organizations, and charter schools. The topics for the workshops are carefully selected to cater to the various audiences we serve. We innovate the way personal finance is taught through the incorporation of technology, games, and whiteboard-animated videos so the materials are relatable, effective and engrained in their long-term memory. Moreover, using technology to learn will allow for successful application of the topics learned for an even more profound impact.

RECOGNITION

The Money Hub became the recipient of The Colin Powell School’s Community Engagement fellowship in 2016. We were featured on BronxNet One’s segment covering money management.
